1 This document gives guidelines for assisting organizations in establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and continually improving their management of eco-design as part of an environmental management system (EMS). This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 14006:2011), which has been technically revised. The main changes compared with the previous edition are as follows:
2 Clause 6, which covered eco-design at an operational level, has been deleted due to the development of IEC 62430:2019 (however, the basic information has been retained in a new Annex C);  the structure has been adapted to ISO 14001:2015;  the boxes related to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 have been removed;  text has been added to address management issues related to the outsourcing of eco-design;  a new Clause 11 covering management issues associated with setting eco-design has been added.
