In this revision, the limits for release of lead and cadmium have been modified to align with the ISO/DIS 6486-2: 1999 ‘Ceramicware, glass ceramicware and glass dinnerware in contact with food — Release of lead and cadmium — Part 2: Permissible limit’, which incorporates present regulatory requirements of major world bodies, in order to obviate any nontariff barriers apart from ensuring protection of the population against possible hazards arising from the use of improperly formulated- and/or processed crockeryware used for preparation, serving and storage of food and beverages. | |
