| 1 | This standard was originally published in 1992. This revision has been taken to bring out the standard in the latest style and format of the Indian Standard. In addition, the following changes have been made: a) The U-tube viscometer test method has been replaced with the Brookfield viscometer due to its inefficiency and time-consuming. Similarly, the bomb calorimetry method has been replaced by the combustion method, due to outdated methodology of bomb calorimetry. b) To address health and safety concerns, restrictions for lead has been tightened and restriction for toxic heavy metals has been introduced; c) A suitable precautionary note has been added in the marking clause in order to prevent unforeseen events, and; d) Additionally, the various editorial corrections, and references have been updated to ensure accuracy and relevance in the revised standards. | |
