Following major changes have been incorporated in the current revision: a) Solvents trichloroethylene and ethylene dichloride have been deleted due to their carcinogenic nature and other harmful health effects b) Minimum level for essential oil content and gingerol content has been reduced in line with Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011. c) The requirements for specific gravity, optical rotation, and refractive index of essential oil has been deleted d) Packaging requirement has been updated.
