This standard covers double flanged and wafer type of metal seated, resilient
seated cast iron, ductile iron and carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium and lined
butterfly valves, for general purposes. Valves covered under this standard are manually, pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically operated. This standard establishes minimum requirements for butterfly valves to be used in municipal utility distribution, irrigation, agriculture, industrial air conditioning, sewage treatment, solar photovoltaic power generation and allied purposes however, butterfly valves to be used in industrial
plants, like oil and gas, power generation, chemical plants, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, marine and defense, fire service and allied purposes are excluded
from the scope of this standard. |
