The first revision of the standard has been brought out to incorporate following important modifications keeping in view the technological advancements in this area. The standard has also been brought out in the latest style and format of Indian Standard, and references to Indian Standards, wherever applicable, have been updated: i) Principle (see 4.2) has been elaborated incorporating the three steps – digestion, distillation and titration for better understanding of the laboratories; ii) Provision of ‘using automatic Kjeldahl digestion unit’ has been added under 6 (Apparatus); iii) List of apparatus (see 6) and reagents (see 7) have been updated; iv) Procedure has also been elaborated including addition of ‘verification of nitrogen recovery’ under 9.5; v) Precautions have been added under 11. | |
