SCOPE :	To formulate Indian Standards on i) Terminology, methods of sampling and characterization of soil (excluding engineering and agricultural purposes) ii) Codes of Practices and Guidelines on reduction, recycling, reuse, treatment and disposal of wastes (other than solid wastes); iii) Characterization and classification of wastes (other than solid wastes), iv) Guidelines and Codes of Practices for control of pollution.
