Bureau of Indian Standards (Bhartiya Manak Bureau) provides an interface to consumers to lodge any complaint or grievance, through a complaint portal on our website or through e-mail. However, considering the fact that mobile phones have become an easy mode to access internet and communicate, a mobile app based on Android platform has been developed, which would provide the same facilities accessible through mobile phone.
The Android based mobile application provides consumers the facility to access the complete Complaint Management System. Consumers can lodge their grievances, preferably with supporting evidence, against ISI marked / BIS certified products or services rendered to them by BIS.

Features of the App:
• The consumer can register himself with BIS through a simplified one-time registration module. The user is required to enter his name and mobile number with an option to provide his email-id as well. The user can use the app after an initial identity verification done through a One Time Password.
• Complaints: The app provides the consumer with facility to lodge complaints regarding any of the following issues:
o Misuse of ISI Mark
o Misuse of Hallmark
o Misuse of Registration (CRS)Mark
o Quality of Product :(ISI Marked Product, Registration Marked Product, Hallmark Articles)
o Misleading Advertisements.
o Other issues.
Once registered, consumers can also view their complaint history and track the status of their complaints through the app.
• Verify Licence Details: Fetch details of licensee based on CM/L No. Enter a valid licence no. and just hit ‘Go’. With this feature, you can verify the licence details of registered manufacturer.
• Products under compulsory certification: Through this feature, user can check the details of all the products covered under the Scheme I (ISI Mark Scheme), Scheme II (Registration Scheme) and Scheme IV (Grant of Certificate of Conformity)
• Verify R-No under CRS: Fetch details of a registered manufacturer based on R- No. Enter a valid eight-digit R- no. and just hit ‘Go’. With this feature, one can verify whether the product bearing Registration Mark is in accordance with the relevant Indian Standard and its manufacturer is registered under SDOC scheme of BIS. Besides, by scanning the QR-code provided on Licence document issued by BIS to a manufacturer, the details of the licence/registration number can be verified.
• Registered Manufacturer under CRS: The details of registered manufacturers based on product category and model of a product, can be verified with the help of this feature. To further ease the mechanism of providing information, results based on Brands and status of registration can be filtered.
• BIS Labs and Offices: With the help of this feature on the App, one can check the location of the BIS offices and Labs on Google Map, that displays the exact address.
• Know your Standard: The ‘Know Your Standard’ feature provides a one-stop access to all the documents and data related to a selected Standard. The Standard can be searched by entering the Indian Standard (IS) Number or a Keyword (like Product name) or a related International Standard Number in the search box. Besides the relevant details such as Amendments, List of Laboratories, List licensees, Scheme of inspection and testing, Gazette notification details, Product manual, classification and composition of the committee details are also displayed.
• Laboratories: Through this feature the details of all the laboratories that are registered with BIS, empaneled labs and BIS recognized labs can be fetched. Filter option is provided to filter the list by the name of Lab, state wise, city wise and district wise.
• Products Under Simplified Procedure: Through this feature, the list of such products where applications are required to be mandatorily filed under option – 2 is displayed.
